Founded in 1899 by British planter Henry Montgomery Lennox, Goomtee Tea Estate is a timeless symbol of history and craftsmanship in the Darjeeling hills.
Over the decades, it has flourished under the stewardship of notable figures, including G.W. O’Brien and the esteemed Rana of Nepal after World War II, preserving its legacy of excellence through every transition.
Nestled in the heart of the Kurseong subdivision, known fondly as the "Land of White Orchids," Goomtee spans 225 hectares (560 acres) of pristine terrain, rising from 3,000 to 5,500 feet above sea level.
The estate’s cool mountain climate, fertile soil, and vintage Chinary bushes provide ideal conditions for producing orthodox Darjeeling teas of exceptional quality, marked by their distinctive character and timeless appeal.
