Origin of the Seeds -

• In India, chia seeds were mainly cultivated in Mandsaur and Neemuch, until it was introduced to the cities of Uttar Pradesh(Amseruva and Siddhaur).
  
• The chia seed crops usually take around 115 days to mature.
• The entire crop is uprooted and dried for five days before harvest. 
• After drying, threshing is carried out.
• On average, one acre of land can produce five to seven quintals of fruit. Harishchandra Singh said that the soil should be pulverized for the rich production of chia seeds.
• It is important to have sufficient moisture in the field before sowing.
• This crop is sown in the Rabi season, which runs from October through November.
• It can only be grown in a mildly cool climate.
