• The Cambogia tree grows well in hot and wet tropical climate of Kerala 
• The fruit that is dried in the sun or smoked over wood fire is known to be an alkaline sourcing agent and has a distinctive taste and nutritive properties.
• Bio Basics kudampuli comes from a few homesteads of organic farmers in Thrissur District .
• These trees growing in their homesteads are traditionally harvested during the month of July . 
• The fruit is then opened and dried , either in the sun or more popularly over a wood fire smoke .
• The second method is preferred due to a couple of reasons , July is the month of peak rains in Kerala and the sun is barely visible.
• Also the wood smoke dried kudampuli gets a nice texture and dark almost black colour and has a smoky flavour.
